Avon Lake’s girls track and field team won the 2022 Southwestern Conference Track & Field Championships at Amherst on Friday. The Shoregals claimed two event titles en route to the SWC Championships title.
Avon Lake recorded 105 team points, while Olmsted Falls finished in second place with 95 points. Berea-Midpark finished third with 93.5 points, while Avon finished fourth with 93 points.
The Shoregals earned one of their first place finishes on the track with their second in the shot put circle. Claire Springer won the shot put after her toss of 36-01.50. The Avon Lake 4x100m relay team of Julia Hurd, Elizabeth Manly, Taylor Firment and Olivia Lengel finished first with their time of 9:39.29.
