2025 All-SWC Boys Tennis Honors

Avon High School senior A.J. Sidoti was named the 2025 Southwestern Conference Most Valuable Boys Tennis Player following the conclusion of the SWC Boys Tennis season. It is the second straight season he has won the award.

Avon Head Coach Eric Korey was selected 2025 SWC Coach of the Year.

The SWC Tournament champions earned All-SWC first team honors, while the runner-up finishers received All-SWC second team recognition. Each school also gets two honorable mention.

Avon Wins 2025 Southwestern Conference Boys Tennis Tournament

Avon High School won the 2025 Southwestern Conference Boys Tennis Tournament on Monday (April 28) with a team score of 39.  It is their sixth consecutive tournament title. Avon claimed all three individual titles and as well as the second doubles title en route to their victory.

Avon Lake High School finished the tournament in second place with 35 points, followed by third-place Amherst Steele High School with 25 points. Midview High School finished in fourth place with 22 points. Berea-Midpark High School (17 points), North Ridgeville High School (16 points), Olmsted Falls High School (14 points) and Elyria High School (12 points) rounded out the standings.

Avon Lake’s Athey Brothers Named SWC Boys Tennis Athletes of the Week

The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 14-20 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:

Brody and Carter Athey finished the week 3-0 at First Doubles.

Rallied from a 2-5 third set deficit to win 7-6 (9-7), 2-6, 7-6 (9-7) and seal the team win over Fairview.

Avon’s Kishorepuria Named SWC Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week

The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week for March 21 – April 6 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Aarav began his Eagle career with a 4-4 record. The second singles player posted wins over Elyria (6-0, 6-0), Avon Lake (8-4) and Solon (8-4) as well as a thrilling victory over Revere to help Avon clinch it’s first win in the State Team Tournament. His losses were to Lexington and University School, who are both ranked in the top 10 in Ohio, and a close match against Brecksville-Broadview Heights and St. Edward.

Olmsted Falls’ Campbell Named SWC Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week

The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 15-21 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:

Drew was 3-0 this past week with straight set wins over Berea-Midpark and Valley Forge. The First Singles player also defeated a 2023 District Qualifier from Avon Lake 6-4, 6-4.

Posted wins against Olmsted Falls, Highland and Walsh Jesuit at First Doubles this week. He remains unbeaten between First Doubles and Third Singls on the year.

Reid Braaten (Fr.) and Nick Reece (Fr.), Berea-Midpark
The Second Doubles team went 2-0 last week to help the Titans earn their school-record-tying fifth win of the season.

Avon’s LeMaster Named SWC Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week

The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 8-14 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:

Luke went 6-0 on the week to remain undefeated on the season. He capped off the week as the Highland Invitational Champion at second singles, defeating two state qualifiers on the day.

The first doubles tandem went 1-1 on the week with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Midview.

Berea-Midpark’s Marcelo Named SWC Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week

The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Tennis Athlete of the Week for March 22 – April 7 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:

Oliver is off to a 5-0 start at third singles for Berea-Midpark. He posted a win over Avon Lake, which was the first Titan win against the Shoremen since the 2013-14 season.

Has played both 1st and 3rd singles and is 3-0 overall. He had a huge victory over a returning district qualifier from North Royalton to help lead the Eagle’s to a great team win over a ranked team..

Nick Hubbard (Jr.), Midview
Posted back-to-back league wins by defeating Amherst in straight sets and then Avon Lake’s first singles in three sets.
