Media

The Southwestern Conference understands the importance of assisting the media in providing coverage of the athletic programs, coaches and student-athletes of its member schools.  Our goal is to disseminate information as fairly as possible using accepted media standards.  Our best attempts will be made to fill reasonable requests by recognized media outlets.  Members of the media are encouraged to work with each member’s athletic director to assist in that endeavor.  It is not permissible for media members to contact any coach or student-athlete directly without working through the athletic director of their school.

Press Credentials Requests and Criteria

Requests for single-game credentials should be made as far in advance as possible.

For football and boys basketball single-game credentials, requests must be made to the home school athletic director four days prior to game day.

For all other sports, requests must be made to the home school athletic director at least 48 hours prior to the game.

Student-athlete and Coach Feature Interviews

To request a specific student-athlete or coach for a sit-down feature interview, please contact the athletic director of the conference school at least 24 hours in advance.

Sideline Policy

Contact each member school athletic director for details on where media members may station for field access.

Press Box

Each member school’s press box is unique in its ability to accommodate media members.  Media members who are requesting a seat in a press box must follow the press credentials request format and state their desire to be in a press box if the school can safely accommodate them.  Schools will do the best they can to accommodate media if press box availability is limited.

Post Game Interviews During Covid19

Contact each member school athletic director for details on how and if post game interviews with coaches will be conducted.

**Southwestern Conference member schools have the right to deny or revoke credentials under their own discretion.
