Midview Earns Weekly SWC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

Following games on May 9th – May 15th, the baseball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:

Ryan Bors (Jr)
Midview
Bors pitched two complete game victories for Midview last week.  One against Elyria and a n0-hitter against Keystone.  In his 12.0 innings of work, the junior hurler gave up only 3 hits, struck out eight and had an earned run average of 1.750 and opposing batting average of 0.770.

Other Notable Performances

Gavin Ehrhardt (Jr), Avon
Avon’s ace pitched a complete game win over Amherst, striking out six and giving up zero earned runs.  He had a .417 average with seven RBI, four runs and two home runs.

Ryan Romito (Sr), North Ridgeville
Hitting .364 on the week, Romito had two doubles a triple and five RBI with two runs scored.  On the mound he picked up a win over Avon Lake with 6.1 innings pitched, zero earned runs and seven strikeouts.

Max Danko (Sr), Olmsted Falls
Danko was 5-of-12 from the plate this week (.417) with a double, two runs scored and seven runs batted in.  On the hill, Danko had 3 1/3 innings pitched in relief with two strikeouts, only allowing one hit and two runs.

Elyria Earns Weekly SWC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

Following games on March 28th – April 3rd, the baseball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:

Kaden Gunselman (Jr)
Elyria
Gunselman is currently hitting .500 on the season with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in.  The junior is also 1-0 on the season from the mound with an era of 1.40 after a complete game victory where he struck out ten.

Other Notable Performances

Joey Kulwicki (Sr), Midview
In five innings of work, the Midview pitcher has a 1.40 era and has struck out 11 while only giving up two hits so far this Spring.

Adam Bright (Jr), North Ridgeville
In his appearance against Normandy this week, Bright went the distance, striking out six.  The junior also hit .556 average on the week with 3 runs scored and two stolen bases.

Jake Platner (So), Olmsted Falls
In his first varsity appearance, Platner threw seven innings and gave up zero earned runs while striking out five and scattering four hits in the Bulldogs’ 3-1 victory over Midview.
