Following contests on May 9th – May 15th, lacrosse players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Gavin Moore (Jr)
Olmsted Falls
Junior Gavin Moore set two Olmsted Falls school records in one game last week.  The attacker set the school record for total points in a game (15) and most goals in a game (11) to go along with his four assists.

Other Notable Performances

Dane Nelson (Sr), Avon
Nelson scored a hat trick in three straight games to lead the Eagles last week.

Nathan Perry (Jr), Avon Lake
In two games last week, Perry scored four goals to go along with nine assists.  In a game right before the week started, Perry had seven assists, giving him a three game stretch of 4 goals and 16 assists.

A week of consistency for the Shoremen, when Coach Bresnahan needed a faceoff win, he knew he could count on Bruns.  The senior was 39-of-41 in the faceoff circle for the Shoremen in games against Padua and Westlake.

Other Notable Performances

Adam Varga (Sr), Olmsted Falls
The Bulldog midfielder caused six turnovers and recovered 10 ground balls in Olmsted Falls’ lone game last week.

Keegan Rudduck (Jr)
Avon Lake
In three games last week, Rudduck scored 13 goals, dished out three assists and forced three turnovers for the Shoremen.

Other Notable Performances

Marcus Wright (Sr), Avon
In a win over Avon Lake, Wright scored three times and had three assists to pace the Eagles.  He continued his great week with four goals and three assists against Brecksville-Broadview Heights.

Gavin Moore (Jr), Olmsted Falls
Gavin Moore scored seven goals for the Bulldogs last week in their two games.

Senior Nolan King has solidified the Avon Eagle defense.  King is averaging three forced turnovers and five ground balls per game for Avon.

Following contests on April 4th – April 10th, lacrosse players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Avon
In two wins over Mentor (21-5) and Hoover (9-8), Crumbacher had nine goals and five assists on the week to go along with 15 ground balls.

Male Lacrosse Player of the Week
Mike Perusek (Sr)
Avon
Avon’s senior team captain led the Eagles to three wins last week over St. Ignatius, Mentor and Wadsworth.  Perusek scored six goals including the game winner over Ignatius.  He dished out five assists and led Avon in ground balls on the week.

Other Notable Performances

Brogan Burns (Sr), Avon Lake
Burns won 19 of 23 (83%) face off opportunities against Olmsted Falls, fueling the Shoremen to a conference win.  He is currently around 70% win percentage in face offs this season.

Gavin Moore (Jr), Olmsted Falls
In two games last week, the Olmsted Falls junior scored five goals, had five assists, recorded 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers.

In a SWC matchup with Avon, Lethbridge scored five times for the Bulldogs, while also dishing out an assist and causing two turnovers.

Crumbacher had a great week for the Eagles, scoring nine goals and an assist in two games against Olmsted Falls and Kenston.  The junior recorded 12 ground balls and earned seven draw control wins in the two contests.

In a key non-conference game against Gilmour Academy, Graney dished out three assists while scoring twice to help the Shoremen.

Pirnat scored a hat trick in Westlake’s game against Rocky River on her way to five goals on the week to lead the Demons.

Perry paced the Shoremen with seven goals and two assists on the week.

Following contests on April 26th – May 2nd, lacrosse players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Beatty scored 14 goals, had 15 ground balls and dished two assists on the week, including the game winning goal over St Joes in double OT.
