Following contests on April 4th – April 10th, lacrosse players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Lacrosse Player of the Week
Rachel Crumbacher (Sr)
Avon
In two wins over Mentor (21-5) and Hoover (9-8), Crumbacher had nine goals and five assists on the week to go along with 15 ground balls.
Male Lacrosse Player of the Week
Mike Perusek (Sr)
Avon
Avon’s senior team captain led the Eagles to three wins last week over St. Ignatius, Mentor and Wadsworth. Perusek scored six goals including the game winner over Ignatius. He dished out five assists and led Avon in ground balls on the week.
Other Notable Performances
Brogan Burns (Sr), Avon Lake
Burns won 19 of 23 (83%) face off opportunities against Olmsted Falls, fueling the Shoremen to a conference win. He is currently around 70% win percentage in face offs this season.
Gavin Moore (Jr), Olmsted Falls
In two games last week, the Olmsted Falls junior scored five goals, had five assists, recorded 12 ground balls and caused three turnovers.
