Following matches on January 24th – January 30th the boys and girls bowlers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Bowler of the Week
Allison Taylor (So)
Amherst Steele
Taylor had a strong three matches this week, highlighted by her 452 series (216/236) at Brookgate Lanes in Amherst Steele’s win over Berea-Midpark. She followed it up with a 446 series (226/220) against Brookside at Rebman Lanes. Earlier in the week she rolled a 354 series (160/194) at Rebmans against Elyria Catholic.
Other Notable Performances
Andrea Guzowski (Sr), Berea-Midpark
Guzowski rolled a 459 series (276/183) in a tough loss at Brookgate Lanes to Amherst Steele. The senior also rolled a 357 series (157/200) on the week in a win over Clearview.
Male Bowler of the Week
Zack Zakrajsek (Sr)
Amherst Steele
Zakrajsek bowled a 558 series (279/279) to set a new Amherst Steele school record and the third highest series in conference history.
Other Notable Performances
Brenton Dill (Jr), Avon
Avon’s Brenton Dill rolled 405 series (201/204) and a 443 series (235/208) this week in wins against North Olmsted and Firelands.
Austin Soukup (So), Berea-Midpark
Berea-Midpark’s sophomore rolled a 461 series (247/214) against Amherst and a 414 series (209/195) against Clearview.
