Amherst Steele wins fourth straight SWC Girls Bowling Championship in 2023-24

Amherst Steele High School captured its fourth straight SWC Bowling Tournament title Sunday (February 11) at Spevock’s Nautical Lanes. The Comets, who compiled 3,437 pins, also secured the 2024 overall SWC Championship for a fourth straight season. [2024 SWC Girls Bowling Tournament Results (PDF)]

Amherst’s Sabrina Stawicki (601 series) earned individual medalist honors at the season-ending tournament. She also posted the top individual game score with a 248. Comet teammate and 2023 individual medalist Allison Taylor placed runner-up with a 547 series.

Midview High School collected 2,906 pins to place runner-up. Berea-Midpark High School (2,883) was third and North Ridgeville High School (2,746) placed fourth, while Avon High School (2,602) and Avon Lake High School (2,256) rounded out the Tournament standings. The SWC Tournament featured three regular games and six baker games.

Overall SWC standings were determined by the records against each other during the North Shore Bowling Conference schedule (60%) as well as placement at the SWC Tournament (40%). Amherst Steele went 5-0 against the other SWC schools during the regular season.
