Amherst Steele and Avon Earn Bowler of the Week Honors

Following matches on December 13th – December 20th the boys and girls bowlers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Female Bowler of the Week
Allison Taylor (So)
Amherst Steele
Back to back Bowler of the Week accolades for the sophomore Comet, who had a tremendous week to keep the Comets undefeated this season.  Taylor rolled a 499 series (256/243) at Rebman Lanes against Buckeye early in the week and posted a 361 series (201/160) at Park Lanes against Avon Lake.  In the first annual Comet Christmas Tournament at Rebman Lanes, the sophomore rolled a 631 series (178/198/255) to finish second overall.

Other Notable Performances

Julie Roztas (Jr), Elyria
Reaching a person high this season with a score of 206, Roztas had six strikes in a row for the Pioneers.  The junior brings an incredible attitude to the lanes each and every day and cheers on teammates and opponents.

Raychel Buettner (Sr), Midview
Buettner rolled a 465 series (225/240) which was 133 pints over her average in Midview’s victory over Lutheran West.

Male Bowler of the Week
Brenton Dill (Jr)
Avon
The Eagles remain unbeaten thanks to Dill’s solid performance on the lanes last week.  The junior rolled series of 431 (216/215) and 462 (249/213) to pace Avon.

Freshman CJ Coleman Jr bowled a 418 series (222/196) against Brookside, which was 136 pins over his average on the season.
