The Southwestern Conference released its Softball Athlete of the Week for May 8-14 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Alanna batted .467 (7-for-15) with a double, 10 runs scored, 3 walks and 4 stolen bases in 5 games last week. The captain showed leadership, strength and resiliency down the stretch to help her team overcome the trauma from a serious collision that she and a teammate were involved with earlier in the season.

Sierra Dorobek (Sr.), Amherst Steele
Went 3-0 on the mound with 17 strikeouts and 8 earned runs over 21 innings.
Sam Peterkoski (Sr.), Berea-Mipark
Batted .875 (7-for-8) with an .899 on-base percentage. she had 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base and 3 runs scored to go along with an outfield assist over the two games.
