The Southwestern Conference released its Girls Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for January 9-15 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Downing swam two All-American consideration standard times in the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly, breaking the school and county records in both. She won the 100 fly and was second in the 100 back at the 80+ team NE Classic. She also was on two relays that swam at finals at the meet. Additionally she broke the pool record at Berea-Midpark in the 200 IM.
