The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for January 2-8 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Joe Swain
Avon Lake
Senior
Swain broke a 23-year old Avon Lake record in the 100 Freestyle by finishing first with a time of 47:03. He also helped each of the relays that he swam claim victories last week and remains undefeated as an individual swimmer this season.
Other Notable Performances
Adam Svoboda (Sophomore), Berea-Midpark
Won the 50 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay against Cuyahoga Heights. He also took first in the 100 Freestyle and Medley Relay while placing runner-up in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay against Elyria.
Brady Link (Junior), Olmsted Falls
Won the 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke and led off the winning 800 Free Relay at the Beachwood Distance Invitational.
