Following meets on January 17th – January 23rd the boys and girls swimmers/divers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Violet Siftar (So)
Avon
The Eagles’ sophomore earned nine event wins in meets this week against Amherst, Elyria and Nordonia. Siftar dropped eight seconds on her 500 free time, and six seconds on her 100 butterfly for new personal bests.
Male Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Gedd Meridores (Jr)
Avon
Meridores set personal best in the 50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyle last week. He dropped six seconds in the 200 free and two seconds in the 100 free to help the Eagles pull off a narrow three point victory over Amherst Steele.
Other Notable Performances
Stephen Watt (Jr), North Ridgeville
Watt set a personal best in the 500 free and earned two event wins against Berea-Midpark last week.
