Olmsted Falls Earns Weekly SWC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

Following games on May 10th – May 16th, the baseball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:

Mally Kilbane (Sr)
Olmsted Falls
Olmsted Falls’ Mally Kilbane was 8-of-14 at the plate with a double, home run, and six RBI.  On the mound, the senior pitched six innings, surrendered only four hits, and striking out 11 to earn the win.

Other Notable Performances

Troy Sudbrook (Jr), Avon
Sudbrook was 8-of-13 at the plate with a double and a home run to help the Avon Eagles go undefeated in conference play last week.

Nick Gorcyzca (Sr), Avon Lake
With a .555 average last week, Gorcyzca had two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored as the Avon Lake Shoremen clinched the SWC crown.

Alex Stegman (Sr), Berea-Midpark
Berea-Midpark’s shortstop was 7-of-11 from the plate with four runs scored, 2 RBI and a double.

Joey Kulwicki (Jr), Midview
Kulwicki had an average of .500 on the week with an ops 1.00, while scoring two runs with one RBI.  On the mound the junior pitched 7.1 innings, earning a win, striking out six and having an earned run average of 0.955.
