Following swim meets on February 8th-14th swimmers and divers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Sarah Tomasch (Jr)
Olmsted Falls
Tomasch swam four lifetime bests to qualify to Districts in all four events. The junior dropped seven seconds in her 200 freestyle and 28 seconds in her 500 freestyle to advance to the OHSAA District Meet. Tomasch also led off the 200 and 400 freestyle relays in lifetime best times.
Other notable performances:
Mallory Mackay (So), Avon
Mackay won three events (200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay) at Avon’s half of the Lakewood sectional meet. The sophomore was second in the 200 freestyle relay and broke school records in the 200 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay.
Male Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Tyler Delap (Sr)
Olmsted Falls
Delap set personal records to qualify to the OHSAA district meet in the 50 and 100 freestyle individually for the first time. The senior also led off the qualifying 200 and 400 freestyle relays, helping the Bulldogs’ 200 freestyle relay team set a new school record.
Other notable performances:
Michael Wilson (Sr), Avon
Wilson set four personal best times at the Lakewood sectional meet. The senior qualified for the Northwest district meet for the first time. Wilson will compete next week in the 200 medley relay, 100 backstroke, and 400 freestyle relays.
