Following bowling matches on January 11th-January 17th, bowlers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Co-Female Bowlers of the Week
Hannah Aschenbach (So)
Amherst Steele
In two matches this week, Aschenbach rolled a 400 series (216/184) and a 447 series (205/242) to help the Comets remain undefeated on the season.
Laney Fouts (Sr)
Berea-Midpark
Fouts helped the Titans go 3-0 on the week with her performances against Buckeye (435 series 189/246), Wellington (430 series 196/234) and North Olmsted (391 series 159/232).
Other Notable Performances
Olivia Rousek (So), Olmsted Falls
Rousek bowled a 327 series in the Bulldogs win over Padua. The performance was 80 pins over her average and a new career-high best for the sophomore.
Male Bowler of the Week
Mason Gardner (Jr)
Berea-Midpark
Gardner took home first place all-tournament team honors at the Eagle Challenge over the weekend after bowling a three-game series of 736 (246/233/257). Earlier in the week, the junior rolled a 439 series (216/223) to help the Titans defeat North Olmsted in match play.
Other Notable Performances
Logan Stewart (Jr), Amherst Steele
Stewart rolled a personal best 290 game and a 464 series to help the Comets defeat Avon at Nautical Lanes.
Jake Finucane (Sr), Westlake
The Westlake senior bowled a 405 three-game series (192/179/254) in the Eagle Challenge to tie for 11th overall.
