Following meets on October 18th – October 24th the boys and girls cross country runners of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Cross Country Runner of the Week
Audrey Sanzone (Sr)
Midview
Midview’s Sanzone qualified for next week’s Regional Championship meet with a 30th place finish at the OHSAA District Cross Country Championship at Lorain County Community College. The senior crossed the finish line in 20:35.
Male Cross Country Runner of the Week
Ty Perez (So)
Amherst Steele
Perez placed 10th out of 177 runners with a time of 16:42.2 at the OHSAA District Cross Country Championships at Lorain County Community College on Saturday. He and fellow sophomore teammate Luke Bowlsby (5th place 16:33.1) qualified for the Regional Championships next week at Boardman High School.
