Following soccer games on October 4th – October 10th the boys and girls soccer players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:
Female Soccer Player of the Week
McKenzie Muir (Sr)
Avon
In Avon’s victory over Midview, the senior forward scored five first half goals. Muir and the Eagles currently sit at 6-0 in the conference heading into the final SWC match of the year.
Other Notable Performances
Emma West (Sr), Avon Lake
West provided a goal and two assists on the week in wins over Olmsted Falls and Hathaway Brown to help the Shoregals improve to 14-1 on the season.
Mia Maruna (Sr), Berea-Midpark
The Titans’ senior forward scored two goals including the game winner in Berea-Midpark’s senior night victory over North Ridgeville.
Male Soccer Player of the Week
Carter Koltas (So)
Elyria
Big week for the sophomore as he guided Elyria to two victories last week. The striker scored the game winning goal against Amherst Steele on Wednesday before recording a hat trick in the Pioneer’s victory over Brookside over the weekend.

Brandon Ferreira (Sr), Avon
Ferreira scored two goals and had two assists in Avon’s win over Midview to help the Eagles clinch the SWC title.
