The Southwestern Conference released its Girls Cross Country Athlete of the Week for August 21-26 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Sam won the individual race and helped her team earn the title at the Keystone Icebreaker Invitational on Monday. She ran a personal record time of 18;40.40 on the 5K course at the Lorain County Equestrian Center.
Other Notable Performances:
Carolina Reed (Junior), Avon
Finished 14th out of 213 runners (20:54.20) at the Riverside Kickoff Classic NIGHT Invitational, to help lead her team to a first place finish out of 24 teams. It was the seconds straight year Avon won the event.
