Following football games on September 3rd the football player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:
Football Player of the Week
DeAngelo Borders (Sr)
Berea-Midpark
Berea-Midpark’s DeAngelo Borders (WR/RB/DB/KR) totaled 294 all purpose yards in the Titans’ victory over Columbus St Francis Desales. The senior rushed eight times for 160 yards and two scores, hauled in two catches for 24 yards and recorded 110 yards on two kickoff returns, including a school record 93 yard return for a touchdown to open the second half.
Other Notable Performances
Sam DeTillio (Jr), Avon
DeTillio was responsible for five Avon touchdowns (4 passing, 1 rushing) on 11 of 14 passing for 187 yards as the Eagles defeated Glenville in Week 3.
