Following golf matches on September 6th – September 12th the boys and girls golfers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Golfer of the Week
Aubrie Rush (Jr)
Avon
In two contests last week against Avon Lake, Rush shot a 40 in Avon’s victory over the Shoregals and then posted a 35 in their loss to Avon Lake.
Other Notable Performances
Sophie Petrus (Sr), Avon Lake
Consistent in her play all season, Petrus shot a personal best 37 last week as the Shoregals defeated Avon in SWC play.
Male Golfer of the Week
Ben Scheeff (Jr)
Olmsted Falls
Scheeff won the Pioneer Invitational hosted by Elyria at Carlisle Golf Course. The junior shot a 71 (E) to win the invitational by three strokes.
Other Notable Performances
Ryan Yoder (So), Amherst Steele
Yoder finished tied for second as an individual at the Pioneer Invitational with a 74 (+3), leading the Comets to a team victory.
