Following track meets on April 26th – May 2nd the track and field athletes of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Molly Radcliffe (Sr)
Avon
Radcliffe set the Avon High School and the Lorain County Record in both the Shot Put and the Discus this weekend at the Avon Invitational. The senior had a throw of 48-02.50 in the shot put and 155-00.00 in the discus, both marks top in the state for 2021.
Other Notable Performances
Sarah Peer (Fr), Westlake
Earned three first place finishes at the Avon Invitational (4×800, 1600, 800) in helping the Demons win their first invitational meet in over a decade.
Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Caden Masterson (Sr)
North Ridgeville
The Ranger senior led North Ridgeville to three first place finishes at the Buckeye Relays. Masterson anchored the winning sprint medley, anchored the winning 4×400 relay and had the longest throw of the meet to help win the discus relay.
Adonis Shelby (Jr), Westlake
Won four events in a dual meet with Midview. Shelby set personal bests in the 100, 200 and 4×100 relay. He placed second in the Long Jump at the Avon Invitational with a new PR of 21-04.00.
