Following games on April 26th – May 2nd, the softball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:
Softball Player of the Week
Katie Barnhart (Jr)
North Ridgeville
The junior Ranger had a very productive week from both the plate and the circle. Barnhart was 10-of-18 on the week with a double, two triples, three home runs and 14 RBI. The pitcher recorded 22 strikeouts on the week, with wins over Avon and Hoban.
Other Notable Performances
Allison Peachman (Sr), Avon Lake
Five extra-base hits on the week for the Shoregal senior, including three triples and a home run. Peachman was 10-of-18 from the plate, had eight RBI and scored nine runs.
Alicia Ortiz (So), Berea-Midpark
Ortiz earned four wins on the mound last week, only giving up two earned runs. The sophomore had an average of .533 with an OBP of .588. She had eight hits, a double and a home run while producing six RBI and four runs.
Sara Gilley (Fr), North Olmsted
Gilley continues to impress behind the dish, throwing three more runners out on the base paths and zero errors. She was 9-of-15 with two doubles, one triple, one home run and 11 RBI on the week.
