Avon won its fifth straight Southwestern Conference football championship on October 2nd when it defeated Midview 49-8. For the first time in school history, Avon has won or shared five straight championships.
Quarterback Niko Papas was a perfect nine for nine passing for 115 yards and three touchdowns. Jakorian Caffey led the Eagles ground attack with 80 yards on six carries.
Avon will host the winner of Medina Highland and Fremont Ross on October 23rd in the Division II Region 6 OHSAA Playoffs on Friday October 23rd. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm.
