Avon earned its second Southwestern Conference Boys’ Soccer Championship in the last the last three years with a 5-0 victory over Amherst Steele High School on Wednesday at Joe Firment Stadium.
The Eagles held a 1-0 lead at the half when Ethan Sear scored in the 48th minute to extend Avon’s lead. Junior Nathaniel Vakos would find the back of the net only seven minutes later to push their lead to 3-0 over Amherst Steele. Luke Lindon would tack on a goal in the 64th minute and Avon would add one more goal, while goalkeeper Ryan Poling and the defensive back line worked a clean sheet to end the night victorious, 5-0.
Avon finished the SWC portion of their season with a 7-0-1 record.
