The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Golf Athlete of the Week for August 1-19 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:
Boys Golf Athlete of the Week
Ryan Yoder
Amherst
Senior
Ryan finished runner-up to teammate at the SWC Preview with a 1-over-par 73. He then led the team to a win over Berea-Midpark with 1-over-par 37 at Fox Creek and rounded out the week by going 3-0 at the Shelby Match Play event. Yoder won 5 & 4, 5 & 4, 5 & 3.
Other Notable Performances
Dylan Sowers (Senior), Olmsted Falls
Dylan finished first overall at the Keystone Invitational at Grey Hawk with a 1-under 71. He followed that with a top 5-finish at both Windmill Lakes (77) and the SWC Preview (76). In his first two SWC matches, Sowers fired a 39 at each (both at Grey Hawk), which helped the Bulldogs move to 2-0.
Drew DiFranco (Senior), Midview
Drew shot a 39 in close match versus Avon Lake and shot 38 in win over Wellington, Both were on the back 9 at Brentwood.
