The Southwestern Conference released its Wrestling Athlete of the Week for December 5-11 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Rejan Alhashash
Avon Lake
Sophomore
Alhashash captured the Clyde Girls Invitational Champion at 135 pounds by pinning the 2022 state runner-up and projected state champion in finals match.
Other Notable Performances
Ryan Auvil (Junior), Amherst
Earned a league win at North Ridgeville and then was the 190 pound champion at the Bellevue Invite with three pins and a major decision. He knocked off the number 1 seed and state-ranked wrestler from Oak Harbor with a pin in 49 seconds.
Deionna Borders (Freshman), Berea-Midpark
Finished in second place at the Clyde Invitational
Nathaniel Shenberger (Sophomore), Midview
The 190 pounder won a pivotal match via a first period pin to give the Middies back their lead against host Olmsted Falls. Midview ultimately won 39-33.
