Amherst Steele, Avon Lake and North Olmsted Earn Weekly SWC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

Following games on May 3rd – May 9th, the baseball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:

Amherst Steele
The sophomore hurler threw a no-hitter last week against Westlake, throwing seven innings, only surrendering one walk and striking out ten in the process.

Perry Miller (Jr)
Avon Lake

Miller threw a complete game no-hitter against the Middies last week.  In his seven innings of work, the Shoreman junior struck out 11.

Gannon Graf (Jr)
North Olmsted
The third no-hitter of the week goes to Gannon Graf of North Olmsted.  Graf helped the Eagles to a 3-0 victory over Avon, throwing seven innings, walking five, but striking out six in the game.

Other Notable Performances

Owen Trzebuckowski (So), Berea-Midpark
In his first varsity start on the hill, Trzebuckowski threw a complete game shut-out against the Eagles of St. Edward.  The sophomore walked five, struck out five and scattered four hits in his seven innings of work.
