North Ridgeville Earns Weekly SWC Softball Player of the Week Honors

Following games on April 19th – April 25th, the softball player of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Rachel Mease (Sr)
North Ridgeville

Mease has helped the Rangers climb to the top of the conference standings along side Amherst Steele.  On the week, the senior had a batting average of .571 with four doubles, two triples, five runs scored, four stolen bases and eight runs batted in.

Other Notable Performances

Sam Smearman (Jr), Berea-Midpark
The Titans shortstop had a .562 average on the week and a slugging percentage of .938.  Smearman had three extra base hits, (1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR), six runs scored and eight runs batted in.

Sara Gilley (Fr), North Olmsted
Freshman Sara Gilley had a batting average of .545 on the week with six runs batted in.  Gilley also caught two potential base runners stealing this week from her catcher position.

Jessica Bernath (Sr), Westlake
Bernath went 7-for-11 from the plate this past week with four doubles, six runs batted in and three runs scored.
