Olmsted Falls and North Ridgeville Earn Weekly SWC Track and Field Honors

Following track meets on April 12th – April 18th track and field athletes of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Female Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Lillie Katsaras (Jr)
Olmsted Falls
Katsaras was first in the 3200m run at the Comet Relays this weekend, with a time of 10:49.05.  It is the third fastest tie in the state this year.  The junior also anchored the sixth place distance medley relay team for the Bulldogs, with a 5:21 split in the 1600m portion of the race.

Other Notable Performances

Brooke Lumpkin (Sr), Avon Lake
Lumpkin had the longest throw at the Comet Relays in the shot put, recording a thorw of 43-11.00.  It is the fourth longest throw in meet history and was part of the winning shot put relay with sister Bree Lumpkin.

Finley Devins (Fr) & Leah Miclau (Jr), Berea-Midpark
The duo won the pole vault relay at the Comet Relays this weekend.  Both Devins and Miclau cleared 10 feet (tied for 1st) and had a combined team height of 20 feet to win the event.

Gemma Kilgore (Jr), North Ridgeville
Kilgore took first in the 200m dash and broke the meet record in the 400m dash at the Brookside Invitational.  Her time of 59.60 also ties the North Ridgeville school record.

Brewer took first place in the pole vault over the weekend at the Brookside Invitational.  The junior cleared 11-06 to win the event.
