Following soccer games on October 18th – October 24th the boys and girls soccer players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honorees:
Female Soccer Player of the Week
Ariana Vakos (So)
Avon
Avon’s Ariana Vakos posted a clean sheet in the Eagles’ 3-0 Sectional Final victory over North Olmsted to open their tournament play.
Male Soccer Player of the Week
Dino Panagiotou (Jr)
North Ridgeville
In a Sectional Final match with Berea-Midpark, Panagiotou scored on two penalty kicks to keep the Rangers in the match. The junior midfielder scored the game tying penalty kick to send the game into overtime. After double overtime, Panagioutou scored the first penalty kick for North Ridgeville.
