Southwestern Conference Swimmers and Divers of the Week Honors 12/28-1/3

Following swim meets on December 28th-January 3rd swimmers and divers of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Female Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Eva Molenaar (Fr)

Molenaar had six wins on the week for the Eagles.  Against Wadsworth, the freshman swam a leg both the winning 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay.  Against Avon Lake, Molenaar won both of her individual events (50 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke) and her relay team won the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay.

Other Notable Performances

Abby Calaway (Jr), Berea-Midpark
Calaway won both of her individual events against Brunswick (200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke) while helping Berea-Midpark’s 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay teams finish in second place.

Lillie Katsaras (Jr), Olmsted Falls
Katsaras remains undefeated this season in the 200 Individual Medley and the 100 backstroke, winning again this past week.

Male Swimmer/Diver of the Week
Ryan Urban (Sr)
Urban picked up two individual event wins against Wadsworth in the Eagles 85-85 tie with the Grizzles.  Against SWC rival Avon Lake, the senior earned four wins on the night.  Individually he won the 100 Butterfly and the 100 Backstroke on top of swimming in two winning relay events.

Other Notable Performances

Roman Wentzel (Sr), Berea-Midpark
The senior swimmer for the Titans won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle and helped Berea-Midpark’s 200 Freestyle Relay team and the 400 Freestyle Relay team to victory over Brunswick.
