Olmsted Falls High School to host SWC Wrestling Tournament February 17-18

Olmsted Falls High will be the site of the 2023 Southwestern Conference Wrestling Championships. The two-day event will feature a Junior Varsity Tournament on Friday, February 17, and a Varsity Tournament on Saturday, February 18.

General admission for Friday is $5 and doors will open for spectators at 4:15 p.m. Wrestling will begin at 5 p.m. On Saturday, general admission is $8 and doors will open for spectators at 9:15 a.m. Wrestling will start at 10 a.m. The spectator entrance will be the athletic doors on the west side of the building off the main parking lot.

Concessions will be available during the tournament. Fans will not be permitted to stand on the floor and must sit in the north bleachers. Team camps will fill up the south bleachers.

Avon Lake High School enters the 2023 Championship with a 7-0 dual record. Avon High School trails its rival by just one spot after finishing 6-1. Amherst Steele High School and Midview High School tied for third place at 4-3, while Olmsted Falls High School finished 3-4, Berea-Midpark High School and Elyria High School went 2-5 and North Ridgeville High School finished the dual season 0-7.

The overall SWC Champion is calculated by a team’s finish in both the regular season duals and SWC Tournament. Both carry equal weight.
