Amherst Steele Girls Bowling wins third straight SWC Tournament and overall championship in 2023

Amherst Steele High School continued its Southwestern Conference dominance by rolling to a first place finish at the 2023 SWC Bowling Tournament Sunday (February 12) at Spevock’s Nautical Lanes. The Comets, who compiled 3,324 pins, also secured the 2023 overall SWC Championship for a third straight season. [2023 SWC Girls Bowling Tournament Results (PDF)]

Amherst’s Allison Taylor (603 series) earned individual medalist honors at the season-ending tournament. North Ridgeville High School’s Alissa Jacovetti finished runner-up (538 series), while Avon High School’s Kilee Falish (511 series) placed third and posted the top single game with a 224 opener.

North Ridgeville collected 2,958 pins to place runner-up for a second straight year. Avon (2,833) and Avon Lake High School (2,823) finished third and fourth, while Berea-Midpark High School (2,787), Midview High School (2,382), Elyria High School (2,107) and Olmsted Falls High School (920) rounded out the Tournament standings. The SWC Tournament featured three regular games and six baker games.

Overall SWC standings were determined by the records against each other during the North Shore Bowling Conference schedule (60%) as well as placement at the SWC Tournament (40%). Amherst Steele went 7-0 against the other SWC schools during the regular season.
