The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Soccer Athlete of the Week for September 12-17 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Avon Lake
Sophomore
The midfielder scored two goals in a 2-2 tie against Midview. He then had the only goal in a 1-0 victory against state-ranked Strongsville. Brendan currently leads his team in goals (4) and assists (4).
Other Notable Performances
Blake Kubasak (Senior), Amherst Steele
The midfielder, who scored two goals apiece in the Comet’s three previous games, led Amherst to a 2-1 win at Berea-Midpark in the team’s only match-up this week.
Christopher Dore (Senior), Avon
The goalkeeper had a pair of shutouts last week and has only allowed 4 goals in the team’s 9 games.
Mason Kucera (Senior), Midview
The forward scored two goals in the Middies’s 2-2 tie at Avon Lake, despite breaking his nose for the second time this season.
Caden Vasquez (Senior), Olmsted Falls
The goalkeeper posted back-to-back shutout against Elyria and North Royalton.
