Each month, the Southwestern Conference will recognize student-athletes who are excelling in the classroom as well as those who have demonstrated the highest levels of integrity and sportsmanship. For February the SWC recognizes the following student-athletes:
Scholar Athletes of the Month
Kyrah Boddy
Senior
Elyria High School
Girls Basketball
Kyrah Boddy entered her final semester with a 4.6533 cumulative grade point average and ranked in the top 5% of her class. She has challenged herself by taking Principles of Engineering, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, AP Calculus and AP English as a Pioneeer.
In addition to basketball, Boddy is active in robotics, Unified Sports, National Honor Society and Link Crew.
Bayler Devins
Senior

Boys Swimming & Diving / Boys Indoor Track & Field
Bayler Devins exemplified academic and athletic excellence during his seventh semester, earning a perfect 5.0 grade point average while competing in two varsity sports. Devins was a dedicated member of both the swimming and diving team and the indoor track team, successfully balancing the demands of rigorous coursework with a demanding athletic schedule.
Beyond high school, Bayler plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Entrepreneurship, with a minor in Interior Design. His commitment to success in the classroom and in athletic competition reflects a strong work ethic, time-management skills, and a drive to excel in all areas. Bayler’s accomplishments serve as an outstanding example of the well-rounded student-athlete.
Sportsmanship Athletes of the Month
Amira Balderas
Senior
Midview High School
Cheerleading
Amira Baderas is a four-year member of the Midview Cheerleading program and served as a Varsity Cheerleading captain this year. In addition to her leadership role, she is an active member of both the Game Day Competition and Sparkle Cheerleading teams. This fall, Balderas volunteered her time to coach Midview’s third and fourth grade competition cheerleading team. When not busy with cheerleading, she works at Chili’s in Avon.
