
Amherst Steele High School captured first place at the 2026 Southwestern Conference Boys Bowling Tournament Sunday (February 8) at Spevock’s Nautical Lanes. [2026 SWC Boys Bowling Tournament Results (PDF)]
Amherst won the regular season with a 7-0 record. The Comets, who collected 4,340 pins at the tournament, also secured the overall league championship for a third time in the last four seasons with their performance at the event.
Amherst’s Brady Smith was the individual medalist after finishing with a 778 series. His performance was the best three-game series at the event since it began taking place at Nautical in 2021-22. North Ridgeville High School’s Kevin Peto was runner-up with a 767 series, while Midview High School’s Aiden Salkiewicz finished third with a 713 series. Both Smith and Peto had the top single-game score with a 278.
Avon Lake High School (4,137) finished runner-up, and North Ridgeville (4,080) placed third at the event. Midview (4,024) was fourth, while Olmsted Falls High School (3,940), Berea-Midpark High School (3,856), Avon High School (3,636) and Elyria High School (3,284) rounded out the tournament standings. The SWC Tournament featured three regular games and six baker games.
Overall standings are determined by the records against each other during the North Shore Bowling Conference schedule (60%) as well as placement at the SWC Tournament (40%). Amherst and Olmsted Falls tied for first with a 6-1 record against the other SWC schools during the regular season.
