
For the second time in four years Avon High School earned Grand Champions at the Southwestern Conference Cheerleading Championship. The Eagles captured first place in the Traditional division while also taking runner-up in the Game Day category at the 2025 event, which took place Sunday (November 2) evening on the campus of Midview High School.
Winners were crowned for both Game Day and Traditional Competition routines with the combined score making up the Overall Standings. The Overall Standings will help determine All-SWC, which will be announced on Monday.
The Eagles, who last won the overall event in 2022, posted a Traditional Competition score of 90.15 and finished the Game Day Competition with 92.75 points for a combined score of 182.9 out of a possible 200 points. 2024 champion Amherst Steele High School, which won the Game Day division by 0.10 point, placed second overall with 178.25 points, while Midview High School took third with 176.45 points. North Ridgeville High School finished fourth with 173.9 points.
