Avon High School captured the 2025 Southwestern Conference Girls Golf Tournament, which took place on Monday (September 15) at Big Met Golf Course. The Eagles had four golfers finish in the top 15 to compile 364 shots, which was one-stroke better than rival Avon Lake High School.
The Eagles also clinched the SWC Championship by winning the SWC Tournament (40%) after finishing second at the SWC Preview (20%) and tying the Shoregals with a 10-2 regular season (40%) record.
Avon was led by Jenavieve Plantner, who tied for runner-up with an 87. Mylah Beran was fourth with an 88, while Jocelyn England had a 91 and Reese Thomas contributed a 98.
Midview High School senior Leah DiFranco claimed individual medalist honors with a seven-over par 79 to win by 8 strokes. Avon Lake’s Adalyn Becker tied for second place overall with an 87.
Midview (387) finished third in the team standings, while Olmsted Falls High School (393), Berea-Midpark High School (401), Amherst Steele High School (407) and North Ridgeville High School placed fourth through seventh, respectively. Elyria High School did not field a varsity team this season.
