The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Golf Athlete of the Week for August 1-16 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Alek Kissane
Amherst Steele
Senior
Alek shot a 77 to finish third at the SWC Preview. He followed with a even-par 34 against Avon Lake and a 42 in a win over Berea-Midpark. Kissane also led the team to two tournament championships by shooting a 77 at the Keystone Invitational and going undefeated at the Shelby Match play tournament.
Other Notable Performances:
Gavin Wagner (Jr.), Berea-Midpark
Averaged 41 in two matches and 79 in three invitationals to start the season.
Jonathan Klooz (Sr.), Midview
Shot a one-under 34 in a win over Firelands. He also helped the Middies win the Elyria Invitational with an 78 at Carlisle.
