Amherst Steele High School captured first place at the 2025 Southwestern Conference Bowling Tournament Sunday (February 12) at Spevock’s Nautical Lanes. Olmsted Falls’ Brandon Poore captured individual medalist honors with a 679 series. Amherst’s Grant Taylor took runner-up with a 674 series, and North Ridgeville High School’s Jacob Holland placed third overall with a 645 series.
Amherst compiled 4,326 pins at the season-ending event. Avon Lake High School (4,164) finished runner-up. Olmsted Falls, which need to place in the top 3 to win the overall championship, rallied to do so with 4,059 pins. North Ridgeville (4,007). Berea-Midpark High School (3,771), Midview High School (3,644), Avon High School (3,640) and Elyria High School (3,428) rounded out the tournament standings.
Overall standings were determined by the records against each other during the North Shore Bowling Conference schedule (60%) as well as placement at the SWC Tournament (40%). Olmsted Falls went 7-0 against the other SWC schools during the regular season.
