The Southwestern Conference released its Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for December 23 – January 5 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:
Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week
Leah Slivochka
Avon
Sophomore
Leah had 10 wins and 5 runner-up finishes over break. She posted personal best times in the 200 Individual Medley and 200 Freestyle to finish top 2 in both at the Beachwood Distance Invitational. Leah also won 2 relays, the 100 Butterfly and 50 Freestyle against Elyria and North Ridgeville. She then won 2 events and picked up 2 seconds at Wadsworth and another three win against Berea-Midpark. Additionally, she had a season best time and placed second in the 100 Individual Medley at the Eagle Open.
Other Notable Performances:
Mia Coughlin (Sr.), Berea-Midpark
Won the 200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay against both Padua and Elyria Catholic.
