The Southwestern Conference released its Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for December 16-22 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:
Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week
Emma Molenaar
Avon
Sophomore
Emma collected 4 wins (200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly, 400 Freestyle Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay) versus Amherst. The times in the first three events were season-bests. Molenaar also qualified for the A finals in 4 events at the Northwest Classic. She finished 7th in the 100 Backstroke, 4th in the 100 Freestyle, 4th in the 200 Medley Relay, and 2nd in the 200 Freestyle Relay. All were season best times.
Other Notable Performances
Lilly Becker (Jr.), Berea-Midpark
Finished 2nd in 100 Breaststroke (school record) and 8th in 100 Freestyle (personal best) at Jim Stacy Winter Championships. Also swam a personal record in the Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay.
