The Southwestern Conference released its Boys Wrestling Athlete of the Week for December 2-8 this evening. Below is this week’s honoree:

Eian Englehart
Avon
Junior
Eian earned his third straight championship and was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the 2024 Cobos Classic. All five of his wins were first period pins in the 285 weight class. The accomplishment came just two days after helping his football team win a State Championship.
Other Notable Performances:
Brandon Deblasis (So.), Berea-Midpark
Took fifth place with a 7-1 record in the 132 pound weight class at the North Coast Classic.
Xaiden Natal (Jr.), Elyria
Finished runner-up in the 215 pound weight class at the Lorain Titan Classic Wrestling tournament after defeating the #5 ranked Division II wrestler in the state in the semifinals.
Nathanial Shenberger (Sr.), Midview
Won the Austin Smiley Tournament with 5 straight pin fall victories in the 215 pound weight class. He led the Middies to a team championship.
Ryan Roberto (Sr.), Olmsted Falls
Went 6-0 on the week with 2 pins, 2 tech falls and a major decision in the 144 pound weight class.
