The Southwestern Conference released its Gymnastics Athlete of the Week for January 16-22 this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Junior
Small led the Eagles to a first place finish against Westlake and Stow on Sunday by winning the Floor (9.40), taking second in the All-Around (35.05), Beam (9.00) and Vault (8.45) while placing fourth on Bars (8.20). The co-captain also led Avon to a third place finish in a match-up against Kenston, Hudson, Medina and Solon on Friday. She finished second in the All-Around (35.00), third on Floor (personal record 9.45), fourth on Vault (9.10) and seventh on Beam (8.65).

Consistent contributor on all 4 events for team score. Consistently places in top 4 for team score on all 4 events. This past week she went 4/4 on routines and continues to demonstrate strong all around placements and scores in and out of the league.
