Olmsted Falls Wins SWC Boys Golf Midseason Tournament

The eight Southwestern Conference varsity boys golf teams gathered at Columbia Hills Country Club for their inaugural midseason tournament, which took place in conjunction with the annual Midview Invitational under soggy conditions on Tuesday (September 6) afternoon. [2022 Midview Invite Results]

Olmsted Falls High School shot a SWC-best 308 to finish second overall at the event. Amherst Steele High School was runner-up (fourth overall) amongst league teams, just one point shy of the Bulldogs. Avon High School, the SWC Preview champions, came in third place (fifth overall) with 311 points. Avon Lake High School (320), Midview (329), North Ridgeville (333), Berea-Midpark (387) and Elyria (453) finished fourth through eighth, respectively, in the SWC portion of the event.

Olmsted Falls had a pair of golfers—Ben Scheef and Dylan Sowers—shoot a 73, which tied for third overall. Amherst’s Landen Bray was one-shot behind with a 74, while teammate Devin Pritt, Avon Lake’s Sam Murray and Midview’s Steven Allen all finished with a 76 to place them in the top 10 overall.

The SWC Preview and SWC regular season, which has each team playing each other head-to-head once, are worth 20%, while the Midview Invitational and the SWC Championship, which takes place on September 22 at Grey Hawk Golf Club, are both worth 30%.
