Avon, Berea-Midpark and North Ridgeville Earn Weekly SWC Track and Field Honors

Following track meets on April 18th – April 24th the track and field athletes of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:

Co-Female Track and Field Athletes of the Week
Faith Kingsley (Sr)
Berea-Midpark
Kingsley helped bring home four event wins at the Comet Relays, with the Titans finishing second as a team.  The senior won and set the school record in the 100 hurdles (14.56) and won the 300 hurdles (46.87).  She helped the long jump relay team to first place with the longest leap of the day (17-3.50) and finished with a victory in the shuttle hurdle relay (1:07.12) in which the team posted a top five all-time finish in Comet Relay history.

Gemma Kilgore (Sr)
North Ridgeville
Kilgore was named the Brookside Invitational meet MVP this past weekend.  The senior finished first in the 100, 200, and 400 dash and anchored the winning 4×400 relay team for the Rangers.

Other Notable Performances

Katie Clute (Jr), Olmsted Falls
Clute anchored the winning 4×1600 relay and Distance Medley Relay teams at the Comet Relays this past weekend.  Both teams set new school records for the Bulldogs.

Male Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Colin Kaufmann (Sr)
Avon
Competing in Amherst at the Comet Relays this weekend, Kaufmann won the 100m dash (10.78).  He helped the 4×100 relay team (1st) and the Sprint Medley relay team (3rd) set new records for Avon.

Other Notable Performances

Matt Henry (Sr), Avon Lake
The Shoremen’s 4×800 relay team came in first place at Tiffin (8:14.33) and Henry won the 3200m with a time of 10:01.35.
