Following wrestling matches on January 3rd – January 9th the wrestler of the week for the Southwestern Conference was announced this afternoon. Below is this week’s honoree:

Zach Orseno (Sr)
North Ridgeville
Orseno went 6-0 last week with wins over Avon and Elyria and a championship at the John Matteucci Memorial Classic at Eastlake North High School. The senior had wins of a major decision, four falls and a decision against the fifth ranked wrestler in division three to win the championship.
Other Notable Performances
Jake Valerino (Fr), Avon Lake
Wrestling against the number 20th ranked wrestler in the state of Ohio at 132 lbs, Midview’s Tyler Dye, freshman Jake Valerino worked a 9-8 decision to come out on top.
