Following games on November 29th – December 5th the boys and girls basketball players of the week for the Southwestern Conference were announced this afternoon. Below are this week’s honorees:
Female Basketball Player of the Week
Abby Liber (Sr)
Avon
In two conference victories last week against Amherst Steele and Avon Lake, the 5’11 senior guard averaged a double double with 23.5 points, 11.5 rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals per game.
Other Notable Performances
Kendall Braaten (Jr), Berea-Midpark
Braaten averaged 16.5 points per game last week, including a 20 point game against Olmsted Falls. The junior guard also averaged eight rebounds on the week.
Kat Crevda (Jr), North Ridgeville
In three conference games, Crevda averaged a double double with 12.7 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game. The junior was shooting 72% from the field last week.
Danielle Cameron (So), Olmsted Falls
In wins over Midview and Berea-Midpark last week, Cameron averaged 13.5 points, six rebounds and three steals per game.
Male Basketball Player of the Week
Ryan Walsh (Jr)
Elyria
In a mid week match up with Westlake, the junior point guard scored 34 points, including seven three pointers, while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out two assists. Friday, Walsh scored 20, had eight rebounds and three steals in the Pioneers victory over Berea-Midpark.
Other Notable Performances
George Gotsis (Sr), Amherst Steele
Gotsis averaged 19 points and 4.5 assists and 5.5 steals in victories over Vermilion and North Ridgeville last week.
Charlie Ciolek (Sr), Olmsted Falls
In two wins last week for the Bulldogs, Ciolek averaged 16.5 points 7.5 rebounds and seven rebounds.
