Avon won the girls cross country conference championship Saturday morning, registering 41 points and placing all five of its scoring runners (3, 5, 6, 12, 15) in the top 15 at Lorain County Community College in Elyria.
Olmsted Falls junior Katie Clute took the individual Southwestern Conference Championship for the third year in a row, covering the 5K course in 19:31.68, ahead of runner-up and teammate Lillie Katsaras (20:02.74). Avon’s Maddie Harrington finished third with a time of 20:18.67.
Amherst Steele finished second as a team with 56 team points while the Avon Lake Shoregals finished third with 74 team points. Olmsted Falls (101) finished in fourth place with Midview (147) rounding out the top five teams.
